Huyen Hoang

Alumni background

Huyen is the Country Manager at Abbott, where she drives strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s market presence and achieve sustainable growth.

Previously, she held various leadership roles at Siemens Healthineers Vietnam, a global leader in medical technology with over 18,500 patents. Starting as National Sales Manager, she advanced to Country Head of the In-vitro Diagnostics division and became a member of the Management Board. In this capacity, she led a team of 40, managing revenue, growth, market share and budgeting for the Laboratory Diagnostics Business Unit.

Before her tenure at Siemens Healthineers, Huyen was the Country Business Manager at SISC Group in Vietnam.

Huyen earned a master’s degree in Physical Chemistry and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the University of Paris and the Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de la Ville de Paris, respectively. She completed her Master of Global Trade at RMIT University as a Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholar in 2021.

Personal statement

In a world where change is permanent, it is natural for people to desire to upgrade themselves with new challenges and experiences. It is not only for them to respond to new demands, but also to always enjoy their daily work. Such desire shapes my motivation to continuously learn new skills and discover my limits. It brought me to Siemens Healthineers Vietnam where, once more, I have been refreshing myself in a new business model with a bigger scope.

My first year with the company felt very fast, but at the same time, significantly long. I have been wondering how that time could have been slower and shorter, considering my relatively short experience in business. I considered taking some small courses in trading and finance with the expectation that these could fill gaps in business. 

The information about the Master of Global Trade program has come to me at the right moment and I was quickly convinced of the content and course design. The course fits for a full-time employee desiring a solid background in business management. I am also greatly inspired by the practical approach of the program, which encourages sharing between students from different cultures, backgrounds and industries.

I am totally convinced that I will benefit from all the studying and sharing of activities within the program. It will help me prepare for new challenges and scopes, and make me feel that my time in Siemens Healthineers in the coming years will be slower and shorter.

It is my great honor to be a member of the Hinrich Foundation Alumni Association, which promotes shared values and stimulates lifelong learning. I am grateful for the Hinrich Foundation for sponsoring and creating this fascinating network of global traders.
