Brandy Darling is a Senior Global Trade Analyst at US defense company Raytheon, an RTX business. Brandy previously served as an Associate at The Asia Group as a member of the firm’s China Practice, where she supported clients across a broad range of industries to navigate China’s political and regulatory landscape and the broader US-China geopolitical environment.

Brandy holds a diverse range of private sector and research experience. Brandy supported Walmart’s Global Government Affairs team to develop and revise Walmart’s strategy in key markets around the world, helping the company navigate political and economic challenges in China, Mexico, and Canada. Brandy also worked on the China team at the Albright Stonebridge Group, where she focused primarily on updating technology clients on US-China technology competition and its policy implications. In 2018, Brandy also interned at the African Chamber of Commerce in China, where she conducted research analyzing the economic effects of African students studying in China, publishing her findings with the African Chamber of Commerce.

Brandy holds a MA in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University and a Certificate in Chinese and American Studies from the Hopkins-Nanjing Center. She also earned a BA in Economics and East Asian Studies from Connecticut College, where she also received a Certificate in International Studies and the Liberal Arts for her research on Sino-African relations while in the US and China. Brandy spends her free time volunteering on the leadership board for the National Association of Black Engagement with Asia (NABEA), a global community of Black Americans with expertise spanning the Indo-Pacific. At NABEA, she channels her extensive international experience into coordinating impactful networking events that connect members across the US and Asia. Brandy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
