NPF webinar: The Trump tariff strategy report card

Uncertainty is the enemy of global economies, and perhaps no period in recent history has upended international markets, supply chains, corporate investment, and labor more than the tariff policies pursued in the first six months of the second Trump administration.

A recent fragile truce eased stunning triple-digit taxes initially levied by the US and China, but anxiety remains throughout the world as the Trump administration is committed to tariffs as a way of boosting the government’s bottom line and encouraging reinvestment in American-made products.

To take stock of the administration’s strategy, the National Press Foundation, sponsored by the Hinrich Foundation, will host a webinar featuring top experts on the global economy: Dennis Shea, former Deputy US Trade Representative and US Ambassador to the World Trade Organization; Deborah Elms, Head of Trade Policy at the Hinrich Foundation; Jeffrey Schwab, Senior Counsel at the Liberty Justice Center; and David Lynch, Global Economics Correspondent of The Washington Post.
